The Sapphire PAX Committee is a committee of the community of Sapphire dedicated to organizing trips to PAX events.

History

The committee was inspired by the original 3 PAX Masters' trip to PAX East 2016. Since April 2016, a group of members of Sapphire, have been communicating to set up a Sapphire Meet-Up at PAX East 2017. The committee was formed in September of 2016 to begin preparations for the PAX East 2017 trip.

PAX East 2017

There was a Sapphire Trip to PAX East 2017, in which the "Funny Lawn" AirBNB House was chosen as the main place of housing.

Memes

Forgotten tickets

Anna forgot her tickets at home, so she had to have them mailed in (her brother came in clutch).

On Friday, Garrett, while on the way to the train station with the crew, realized that he had forgotten his phone at the house. Just as everyone got off the metro, Garrett realized he also forgot his PAX tickets. While the crew was eating brunch at Dunkin' Donuts, Garrett took a Lyft to the house, only to eventually realize that he had never gotten the key from Adam. Wondering what his next move might be, the crew was shocked when they saw Garrett calling Jerry. Apparently, Garrett had found an open window that he used to enter the house and get his stuff.

Meeting cool people

On Friday, the crew got to meet Boxbox. On Saturday, Caleb, Chase, Anna, and Adam met Dunkey. Caleb also ran into ImmortalHD and FYPme, while Bryan found MaximusBlack.

Jerry ADHD

Throughout the weekend, Jerry would stare at other members of the crew, usually triggering a verbal ping pong match consisting of expressions such as "What's your issue?" and "What's your problem?" Furthermore, on the first night, Jerry paced about the entire house, seemingly frustrated about absolutely nothing. Eventually he settled down and fell asleep with Caleb.

Ahp

Andy's meme received an upgrade as the crew turned it into a system of rating a female's looks. An "ahp" is equivalent to a thumbs up, "ehp" to a meh, and "nahp" to ABORT MISSION. Later on, Jerry took this meme and made it his own by using this system to rate dogs.

CVS

Bryan, Garrett, Nick, and Adam made heavy use of the local CVS, which was a half-mile walk from the house. Bryan made a crew-high seven trips to CVS. They bought bottled water, candy, tea, ice cream, and canned soup.

The house

From the moment it was chosen as the subject of housing for the trip, the Funny Lawn house was a meme. It was nice, but it contained some strange items inside. Interestingly enough, a few items, namely a pair of mugs, refer to Greenbrier on them. Furthermore, the house was full of lewd paintings and magazines. The downstairs bathroom door was an accordion, while the bathroom itself was in the kitchen. One of the other bathrooms doesn't even lock. The house's steps were extremely vertical and caused many people to hit their toes or trip, or spill Coke. The house also had a bench on the third floor.

The bench

Over the course of the weekend, Bryan moved the bench from its original position, to the stairs, and finally to Chase's room. The original intent of the first move was to watch Chase's television from the staircase. Caleb had to remind Bryan to put it back to its original place.

I'm fine

On Sunday night, the crew had a Sapphire Dinner at a Korean BBQ place. Adam and Garrett shared two bottles of sake; needless to say, they became very intoxicated. Throughout the entire experience, Adam would frequently reiterate the phrase, "I'm fine!" with increasing intensity. Needless to say, he was not fine, as he passed out as soon as the Lyft arrived.
