In Sapphire, a conflict arose when Caleb heard Funky talking to his cat. He argued that people like Funky must be insane for talking to animals. Scientific studies show that animals in fact do learn the way you gesture towards them, thus somewhat justifying what the Talk To Pets side of the argument was trying to say. In spite, Caleb still opposes this movement.
