To use this template, simply copy and paste the following text into the article and fill in any of the parameters. Only "name" is required.

Parameters

An explanation of what each parameter is. For more information, ask on the talk page.

  1. name = the name of the denomination
  2. caption_background = if on, the title will appear with a purple background. Default is on.
  3. image = any image associated with the denomination (logo)
  4. imagewidth = width of image, default "200px." Recommend under 200px. Used when available image is low-resolution.
  5. imagealttext = alternative text to be displayed describing image.
  6. caption = a caption for the image
  7. abbreviation = an abbreviation (such as an acronym) for the denomination
  8. main_classification = (Roman-Catholic, Protestant, Eastern-Orthodox, etc.)
  9. orientation = (main theology, i.e. Calvinism, Arminianism, Baptist, etc.)
  10. scripture = the canon of religious text used by the denomination, including non-Bible works
  11. theology = (main theology, i.e. Calvinism, Arminianism, Baptist, etc.)
  12. polity = the appropriate ecclesiastical polity
  13. governance = the appropriate ecclesiastical polity
  14. structure = organizational structure for groups that do not employ a standard ecclesiastical polity
  15. leader/moderator = the religious leader or moderator of the denomination
  16. leader = the religious leader of the denomination
  17. director = if the denomination's organization is controlled by a director
  18. fellowships = names of distinct fellowships within the denomination
  19. associations = names of inter-denominational associations the church is part of; eg. International Conference of Reformed Churches
  20. area = geographical area, eg. North America and Japan
  21. headquarters = Headquarters or main denominational office
  22. founder = the original founder
  23. founded_date = date of founding
  24. founded_place = location of founding
  25. separated_from = separation from (denomination)
  26. parent = if the denomination branched off of a parent denomination
  27. merger = if the denomination was the result of a merge
  28. absorbed = names of denominations that were absorbed into this body
  29. separations = names of denominations that have split off from this denomination
  30. merged_into = name of existing denomination into which this body was merged
  31. defunct = year in which this body ceased to exist if not merged with or into another denomination
  32. hospitals = number of church-operated hospitals
  33. nursing_homes = number of church-operated nursing homes
  34. aid = name of humanitarian aid organization run by the church, like Adventist Development and Relief Agency
  35. congregations = number of congregations
  36. members = number of members
  37. ministers = number of ministers/priests/pastors/...
  38. missionaries = number of missionaries
  39. temples = number of temples
  40. primary_schools = number of church-operated primary schools
  41. secondary_schools = number of church-operated secondary/high schools
  42. tax_status = tax classification (e.g., Internal Revenue Service 501c3 or equivalent) of the main body
  43. tertiary = number of church-operated tertiary level colleges or universities
  44. publications = names of the publications made by the denomination
  45. other_names = alternative name or names by which the denomination is/was known
  46. website = official website
  47. footnotes = any footnotes
